Smart and clean waste inlets

Our waste disposal system is designed to make recycling easy and convenient for users. The system features separate inlets for different types of waste, and is typically located within 30 meters of residential or office buildings. Users sort their waste at home and dispose of it in the appropriate inlet at the waste disposal unit.

Our system is much cleaner and more hygienic than traditional waste rooms or bins. Our inlets are completely sealed, which eliminates odors and the risk of vermin infestations. This makes our waste disposal system a much more pleasant and sanitary option for both users and the surrounding community. Our goal is to encourage recycling and create a more sustainable future through the implementation of a circular economy.

The indoor waste disposals points can be placed on each floor or in the entrance hall.Air inlet valve - Will let transport air into the system at signal from the control system.Outdoor disposal point. The inlets, one for each type of waste/reclables, are placed close to the building for comfort. The easier it is to dispose of sorted waste, the more will be sorted. Vertical storage chute - This is where the bags are stored until the chute is almost full. Sensors in the chute send a signal to the waste collection station and an emptying circle is started. Valve - opens on signal when system is pressurized. The waste inlets are connected to an underground pipe network that transports the bags from the inlets to the waste collection station. The bags are transported to the collection station at 70 kph.Powerful fans create an airflow in the pipes. The waste collection station is located as far away as possible from the apartments, ideally close to a main road.

With Envac there is no longer need for trucks to drive up to each building to collect household waste, it is collected at the terminal building only.

The area becomes less noisy, the street environment safer and the air cleaner.
The resilient system is part of the smart city’s infrastructure and available 24/7/365.Diverter valve - directs the bags to the correct cyclone and container. The transport air is properly cleaned and filtered before released.Full containers are taken to the recycling center and returned empty.Self-emptying litterbins can be connected to the system. Cyclone - The transport air is separated from the bags.

Touchless waste inlets – for improved hygiene and safety

Introducing our newest waste inlets featuring touchless technology. These inlets require no physical contact with the door, as they are designed without handles or buttons. This touchless feature makes the waste inlets more hygienic and sanitary, as it eliminates the need for users to touch potentially contaminated surfaces.

Installed in Monte del Pilar, Majadahonda, Spain in March 2021.

Less traffic, less emissions with Envac

Watch this brief video clip that compares Envac’s waste handling system to traditional methods, with a focus on traffic management.

Going underground

Our waste inlets are connected to an advanced underground pipe network which allows for efficient waste disposal. The emptying process is carried out at pre-programmed times or when the units reach capacity. Waste is transported at high speeds of up to 70kph using negative airflow technology that quickly sucks the waste bags to a remote collection station. This process takes only a few minutes per waste stream.

The Envac system’s underground infrastructure makes it highly resilient to extreme weather events, and our smart automation technology ensures that the system remains reliable even during times of societal pressure. The collection station can be located up to 2 km away from the central urban area, reducing the impact of heavy traffic on the surrounding environment. This distance also helps to minimize issues such as noise pollution, air pollution, and traffic congestion.

Using the Envac inlet

Our waste disposal system features a smart RFID tag which enables efficient data collection. Additionally, we have recently developed a cardboard inlet which provides a sustainable alternative to traditional waste disposal methods. Next stop: the collection station

All the waste streams are transported in one single pipe network. Each waste stream is emptied separately and directed into the corresponding waste container at the collection station. The air used for transportation is cleaned through an industrial filter before it is released from the building.

Once a container is full, a standard collection vehicle takes the container away for processing of the waste. This single collection reduces waste-related heavy traffic, and its carbon emissions, by up to 90 per cent compared to traditional, multiple collections – making the Envac System a key component of change for reaching the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals and creating a greener planet.
